Coronavirus update

Following advice from the Ministry of Education around the rapidly evolving coronavirus situation, we have put in place conditions for families who have recently travelled from, or through China.

If you or your child has stayed or transited through China and arrived in New Zealand after 16 January 2020 or they have been in contact with someone who has, we request that your child remains at home for two weeks from their arrival date back in New Zealand. Please report this absence through the usual channels giving details of the arrival date.

If you have travelled abroad since 16 January 2020 or been in contact with anyone who has, we kindly ask that you closely monitor your family’s health. If you have any concerns, please keep your child at home and consult a medical professional.

We are constantly monitoring advice from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and will advise you if there are any further changes to their directives. Good hygiene protocols will also be reinforced with staff and students.

If you require more information, please visit the Ministry of Health website https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov

You can also call a Healthline on 0800 611 116 if you have any concerns about your family’s health. The World Health Organisation continues to provide regular updates on the coronavirus. The link to this information is as follows: https://www.who.int/

We understand that this will disrupt some students' start to the 2020 school year, and we will do our best to keep you updated. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Kind regards

Jared
