Digital Safety

We recognise the role that digital devices play in education, and we are excited about the learning opportunities they provide.

Rather than asking you to provide a device for your child to use at school, we provide an iPad for each of our year 5 to 8 children for learning. This ensures that we can control the apps on them and also access to the internet. It also means that there is equity for all of our students. Our younger children have a pool of iPads available for use when it's needed for their learning.

We believe that keeping your child safe while using the internet is a partnership between parents and school.  With this in mind, we have developed our iPad Agreements, and you can read these to the right of the screenin the blue boxes.

Each year, we ask whānau of our children in years 5 to 8 to discuss the iPad agreement with their children and complete the parent declaration before an iPad is issued for the year.  The 2026 Senior iPad declaration is to the right in the green box.

We've also included some resources that have been shared with us by John Parsons - a leading Cyber Safety expert.  He has some really invaluable tips and tricks to help you keep your child safe online that you may find useful. You can find them if you click the orange box to the right.
